Activities on Hilton Head
Island
Sharing time with family and friends is certainly a priority. But
just how you spend that time together is the real question. On Hilton Head
Island where the climate is perennially pleasant for most of the year, outdoor
recreation, water sports and leisure activities are best accomplished here.
Anything that involves warm weather activity
is right in this paradise: sailing, boating, fishing, tennis, golf, biking,
horseback riding, rollerblading, parasailing. If you have an infinity for
sea-oriented sports, the puzzle of waterways and the limitless blue of the
Atlantic can satisfy your craving. For everything from water skiing and
windsurfing to swimming and SCUBA diving, Hilton Head has it all.
On the more leisurely end of the spectrum,
there’s nothing like spending a day basking in the sun or just strolling on the
beach. The sounds of the seagulls and breaking waves on the shore mingled with
the scent of salt air and sunshine can lift almost anyone’s spirits.
Sightseeing by bike is another favorite way
to enjoy a gorgeous morning or afternoon while getting around the island. The
town has a network of over nine miles of pathways within almost all of the gated
communities on which to ride safely.
The Island Recreation Center provides
activities and programs for all ages, all year long, with expansion in programs
and facilities continuing. Further, there’s ample opportunity for teens to
participate in sporting events, cookouts, seminars, beach parties, dances and
special activities.
The list of things to do on Hilton Head
Island is limited only by one’s imagination, never by the unavailability of
options.
